2/17/2009 - Men’s Basketball Team Ends Season With Victory!

In their final game of the year, the Varsity Eagle Basketball Team soared over the Overlake Owls, defeating them 40-36. The game came down to the wire but the Eagles prevailed over the Owls due to the strong leadership and presence of senior starters Thomas Parker, Paul Strong, and Rohit Nadkarni. Parker, in particular, contributed a key block and defensive rebound in the final 30 seconds of the contest.
Though the young team struggled at points in the season due to key injuries, the team bested their record from previous seasons winning some hotly-contested games. The victory against Overlake was no doubt prompted by the enthusiastic Eagle crowd. The largest crowd of the year turned out for the closing performance of the 2008-2009 season. The student fan bus was filled to capacity, and numerous faculty, staff and EPS parents happily swelled the crowd’s numbers. Coach Greer says of the future, “This year’s seniors will be missed though they are leaving the team in good hands with a nucleus of young talent. I look forward to next year.”
