3/3/2010 - Regional Shakespeare Competition

On Monday, February 22nd, several EPS students presented memorized Shakepearean monologues and sonnets to a panel of EPS English and Theatre faculty. Following a period of lengthy deliberation, the faculty selected sophomore Cameron Greenberg as the student who will represent Eastside Preparatory School at the March 7th Regional Shakespeare Competition.

Cameron performed a monologue by the Chorus from "Henry V" as well as sonnet 24. He will deliver these same pieces at the Frye Art Museum on Sunday, March 7th, from 2-4 p.m. Amelia Durham, a sophomore EPS student, is the first alternate for the competition, and she presented a monologue by Puck from AMND, as well as sonnet 71.

Admission is free at the March 7th event and all are welcome to attend. The winner of the regional competition earns an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City and the opportunity to compete for the national championship in the Shakespeare Competition.
