Originally a Pacific Northwest native and I-5 rival of Seattle, Jeff Bandel is excited to exchange his Rocky Mountain living for a return to the dense forests, Cascades, and access to the coast that the PNW has to offer. While there may be some adjustment from the 300 days of sunshine Denver, CO had on average, he knows he was able to stay cheery when the weather got dreary for the first 22 years of his life in Oregon. He feels that Eastside Preparatory School is a perfect match and is eager to begin teaching history in the Upper School. He comes to Eastside Prep after working for two public charter school systems for the first six years of his career where he taught World Geography, pre-AP World History, 9th grade Composition, and AP World History while also building and coaching a varsity cross-country program at his former school in Denver.

Jeff is an outdoor enthusiast and his dog companion, Porter, joins him on almost all of his wilderness excursions. Porter has been known to play the role of ‘sled dog’ on Jeff’s uphill climbs while mountain biking before chasing him downhill back to the car, fly fishing partner, and camping buddy.
