Adults in the EPS community provide windows and mirrors for their students in and outside of the classroom—helping them to see themselves and others in the world and its history. To facilitate this work, EPS faculty and staff are also expected to continually increase their understanding of equity, inclusion, and compassionate leadership and incorporate it into their professional development.
To aid faculty and staff in this work, time is dedicated to EICL learning during Program Development Days. The Faculty/Staff EICL Learning Group also meets monthly to discuss a wide range of topics related to EICL. Off-campus EICL professional development resources are highlighted in weekly faculty/staff emails.
EPS supports faculty and staff of color through faculty/staff Affinity Groups and funding attendance at the National Association of Independent School’s People of Color Conference.
