Five Pack Service and Civic Engagement (8th–12th)
Dates: Monday, April 11th – Friday, April 15th
Location: Greater Seattle region
Price Range: No Cost
Theme: Service and Civic Engagement
Join us for five days of action-packed service, volunteerism, and civic engagement in our community. “Service is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this earth,” said Shirley Chisholm. “Everybody can be great because everybody can serve,” said Martin Luther King, Jr. For this week of service, we will travel from the soup kitchen to the mountains. We will explore and address different pressing issues facing our communities and respond to these needs with direct action now. From homelessness to housing to food insecurity to trail restoration to physical access to social justice, a multitude of issues will be investigated and addressed. This will be a week of moving quick and determined in the Greater Seattle region. The final list of projects will depend on student interest and our ability to serve within agency guidelines and protocols. Let’s spend the week of EBC giving back to the community in a wide variety of ways!!
