Ph.D. Geophysics, M.S. Geophysics. B.S. Computer Science (minors: Physics, Anthropology), University of Minnesota, Minneapolis
Since earning his doctorate, where he worked on the physics of planetary interiors, and taught courses from the introductory freshman-level to graduate-level, Ted worked as a software tester, developer, program manager, and data scientist. However, he never stopped educating adolescents, first teaching bicycle racing at the Marymoor Velodrome, and then in various volunteer positions at EPS (Climbing Club, Fusor Team, and US Math Team) before joining the faculty in 2017. He enjoys learning from his students as much as he loves teaching them, and endeavors to include students in the instructional process. He also shares his passion for endurance athletics as a coach of cross-country running and track & field.
Outside EPS, he has been an elite bicycle racer, is an avid rock climber and ultra-distance runner, and fuels his mind and body with pizza and burritos. He’s also a proud EPS parent.
