International Application for 2019-20 School Year

Eastside Preparatory School is an academically rigorous college preparatory school located in Kirkland, Washington. We are an independent, non-sectarian Middle and Upper School that serves boys and girls in grades 5-12. Eastside Prep defines an international student as someone who is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, for whom English is their second language, and who has either never lived in the U.S. or who has attended school in the U.S. for less than two years. Note: a student who is entering their third year of school in the U.S., and who is no longer enrolled in an ELL/ESL curriculum, may be considered for admission without needing to submit TOEFL or TOEFL Jr. scores. This type of student would apply for admission as a domestic applicant.

To graduate and earn a diploma from EPS, international students must meet all graduation requirements as well as attend EPS for at least their 11th and 12th grade years. ELL/ESL coursework and support are not offered at EPS. Please read the following information about our mission, our students and families, our housing requirement, and our policy on English proficiency.

OUR MISSION at Eastside Preparatory School is to guide students to…
• think critically;
• act responsibly;
• lead compassionately and
• innovate wisely.

We seek families who are committed to their children’s education and educational community. We seek students who are…
… intellectually curious.
… able and eager to take advantage of a challenging academic program.
… interested in learning how to learn.
… willing to work closely with peers and adults.
… achieving at grade level and above.
… ready to act as part of a community, with civility, honesty, tolerance, and respect toward others.

While attending Eastside Preparatory School, all international students must reside with an immediate family member. Eastside Prep will not consider international applicants if they live on their own or in an independent dorm environment.

There is no ELL/ESL support program at Eastside Preparatory School. As a result, all international students need to demonstrate a very high level of proficiency as English speakers, listeners, writers, and readers. Applicant must submit a TOEFL or TOEFL Jr. test score as part of the application process.
