What It Means to Be in the Waitpool

Being placed in the waitpool is not the news families hope for, and we recognize the mix of emotions this moment can bring. This page is designed to clearly outline what the waitpool means, what options are available to you, and how to move forward in a way that best supports your student. Our goal is to provide clarity, transparency, and reassurance as you consider your next steps.

What Steps Can We Take From Here?

We understand that being offered a place in the waitpool brings a new set of decisions for your family. You may be wondering, “Do we accept an offer from another school?” or “Do we wait to see if a space becomes available at EPS?” Both paths are valid, and we’re here to support you as you consider your options.

If you would like to remain in the waitpool and be considered should space open, the easiest way to let us know is by completing this form. You’re welcome to update your response as often as needed.

The form will offer three choices:

  • I am not enrolled elsewhere and would like to enroll at EPS if given the opportunity.
  • I am still interested in EPS, but I have tentatively decided to enroll at another school.
  • I am no longer interested in being in the waitpool and have decided to enroll at another school.

There is also space to share any additional context or details you would like us to know as we continue to review enrollment.

The Student Experience

What does the process of reapplying look like?

Each year, our waitpool far exceeds the openings that become available, leading families to reapply.
