Step into a week of discovery, challenge, and exploration on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas. Based at The Island School, this immersive experience invites participants to connect with the land and sea through outdoor adventure, creativity, and environmental learning. Each day offers something new, including hiking along limestone bluffs, kayaking turquoise waterways, exploring coral reefs, and taking part in sustainability projects alongside local scientists and educators.
You’ll also engage in hands-on workshops in marine ecology, sustainable design, and storytelling, discovering how island communities balance natural beauty with conservation. Evenings bring time to unwind, reflect, and celebrate the day’s adventures, whether that means a campfire on the beach, a team challenge, or music under the stars. Our host offers a large range of learning, recreational, cultural, and adventure activities, and selected students will help to prioritize our final schedule and program for the week.
- Students and families should be aware that this experience includes:
- Extended time outdoors in warm, sunny, and occasionally unpredictable tropical weather
- Active days involving swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, and other physical activities
- Water-based experiences that require respect for ocean conditions
- Simple, group-style accommodations
