Join us for a journey into the heart of our Nation’s Capital, Washington D.C. We will explore places of the past, meet with officials working in the three branches of government, and experience an amazing variety of historical and cultural attractions. Explore the monuments and museums that tell the dramatic story of the United States from its earliest days to the present.

Get a firsthand look at the workings of government and venture to the very places where laws are made. Take a fresh look at American history as the events and people that have shaped our country come to life. We will be moving across the city by foot and by metro with lots of walking and good eating in between site visits. We will also attend a theatre performance and sports competition(s). There is also flexibility in our schedule to adjust and add destinations based on interests of the students. Washington D.C. is a great American city and a must-see destination for anyone interested in understanding the history and inner workings of our modern republic.

  • Students and families should be aware that this experience includes:
    • Extensive walking each day through museums, monuments, and historic sites in variable spring weather conditions
    • Use of public transportation, including the Metro, and group travel across busy urban areas
    • Exposure to large crowds, security screenings, and public venues requiring attentiveness and patience
    • Engagement with complex topics in history, government, and civic life, requiring respect and thoughtful participation
