John Stegeman

Cross Country Coach

John Stegeman is a lifelong athlete, fitness enthusiast, and outdoor fanatic. His interest in endurance sports began as a youth swimmer. He wasn’t fast, but he could keep going, so the coach made him the team’s sole entry in the 500 yard freestyle event, where he excelled amid sparse competition. Skiing became a passion in high school, and as a young teacher John served as a USSA-certified Varsity Alpine Ski Coach. Now he spends his free time trail running and gravel cycling in the Pacific Northwest. At EPS, John is an Assistant Cross Country coach, and learns more than he teaches as a partner to Ted Scott and Amy Sanchez.
