This is a relaxed, casual, social gathering opportunity. BBQ fare will be served, and student music performances and visual art will be showcased! Fun for the whole family.

We’ll start with a presentation to help students and families understand how Upper School class registration works. After that, new and returning families can mingle, reconnect, and get to know one another. And of course, we’ll have a delicious EPS‑catered meal to enjoy together.

Upper School Peer Mentors will host the new 9th‑grade students, giving them a chance to meet one another, start building connections, and ease into the Upper School community. Parents and guardians will have an opportunity to connect with one another and ask questions while students participate in activities.

New families will have a chance to meet, reconnect, and get to know one another. Fun games and delicious EPS food will be provided to make the evening even more enjoyable. Representatives from the Association of Parents/Guardians will host conversations while EPS Middle School Advisors guide students through activities.

We love acronyms at EPS, and we’re not trying to keep them a secret!

Acronym	Meaning
APG	Association of Parent/Guardian
EBC	Education Beyond the Classroom refers to experiences throughout the year and a week in April each year, where we take a break from classes on campus and learn together all over the region, the nation, and the world!
EICL	Equity, Inclusion & Compassionate Leadership, our mission-tied acronym for DEIB
GSH	Guided Study Hall, our 4:1 student to Learning Support Specialist class, focused on developing the skills of a self-regulated learner: self-awareness, self-management, and self-advocacy.
LPC	Levinger-Poole Commons, which is our cafeteria, with spaces including our Library and yoga studio upstairs.
MS	Middle School
Middle Band	The time in the middle of the day when students eat lunch and have Middle Band Activities, including Clubs, Assembly, Class Meetings, Affinity Groups, or Free Spaces, like Maker Space, the gym, or Sport Court.
PSIS	The Puget Sound Independent Schools admissions consortium of which EPS is a member, shares common application forms and deadlines with over 40 other schools.
SLC	Student Leadership Council
TALI	Refers to the main building, TALI Hall, but also our mission: Think Critically, Act Responsibly, Lead Compassionately, Innovate Wisely.
TMAC	Building with classrooms, tech lab, gym. Named for our head of school emerita, Terry Macaluso.
