Celebrating EPS Students
On October 23, the Speech and Debate Team gathered for its first in-person tournament since February 2020. Many freshmen students spoke and debated for the first time, using their research, critical thinking and public speaking skills to persuade the judges. The meet included 20 competitors, 8 judges, 6 different styles of speech and debate, 3 preliminary rounds and one Final Round. The more experienced students judged the newer students and helped them strategize in between rounds. The tournament culminated in a Final Round debating the regulation of cryptocurrency with Runners-Up Raelin (’24) and Emma (’24) versus the Finals Champions Aamina (’24) and Sophie (’24). The team eagerly anticipates the rest of the competitive season.
