Jeffrey Covington

Upper School English

Ph.D., Literatures & Cultures in English, Brown University; A.M. English Literature, Brown University; M.A. English Literature, University of New Hampshire; B.A. English, James Madison University

Before coming to EPS in 2022-23, Jeff was a college English professor for over ten years. Originally from Richmond VA, he taught at various universities around the Northeastern US, earning his Ph.D. in English literature from Brown University (collecting degrees seems to be a hobby of his). Most recently he was Associate Professor of English at Baldwin Wallace University in Cleveland, OH, where he taught courses in modern & contemporary literature, LGBTQ+ studies, and literary theory.

When he’s not in the classroom, you can find Jeff wandering the stacks at Elliott Bay Books, catching a show at Neumos, being nerdy at PAX West, or getting lost in the woods somewhere like the complete and utter PNW cliché that he is. He’s elated to be relocating to Seattle and joining the EPS community.
