BA, Creighton University, English, Creative Writing, English; MFA, Eastern Washington University, Creative Writing

Jennifer has lived most of her life in the west, though as a Minnesota native, credits those fierce winters for her love of reading, writing, and fireplaces. Jennifer comes to Eastside Prep most recently by way of the San Juan Islands where she taught English and was a college counselor for five years. Prior, she taught at a variety of colleges and universities, including for a year in China. Jennifer is co-founder of The Multiverse, a space that provided programming for interdisciplinary discussions and collaborations. She brings this joy of interdisciplinary work to her classes, where students translate poems into visual art or make board games out of stories. Jennifer is the author of three books of poetry and a novel, and, in addition to teaching and writing, is an avid walker and pie maker.

“I am delighted to join the EPS community where the passion for inspired teaching and learning was evident from my first encounter with it.”
