Suicide Prevention – Parent Training

Eastside Prep is committed to suicide prevention and has, for several years, worked with Forefront Suicide Prevention at the University of Washington.  This year, we are offering two online parent training sessions to equip us with an eye for prevention across the community—looking out for our own children as well as their friends, classmates, and neighbors. You will learn the five simple and effective LEARN® steps that empower individuals to help others move in the direction of hope, recovery, and survival. These steps play an important role in helping us recognize when peers, friends, and family might be having thoughts of suicide, and to know how and where to refer those individuals to keep them safe.

Jenn Stuber, EPS parent and Center Director and Co-Founder of Forefront, will lead the training along with the EPS counseling team. We are offering two separate parent training sessions on Tuesday, December 8 at 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, December 9 at 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. This is not a two-part series, but rather the same event offered at two different times. It is not necessary to RSVP, but parents are welcome to do so at this LINK.

The Tuesday event can be accessed through this Teams meeting link.  The Wednesday event can be accessed through this Teams meeting link.
