Admissions Events Overview

Director of Enrollment Management, Cheryl Schenk Miller, welcomes you to the admissions process and walks you through some frequently asked questions about admissions events and our new video interview format.


Required Events


Admissions Preview Event The Admissions Preview Event introduces applying families to the EPS community.

Admissions Previews provide students and families with a sense of the EPS experience in a two-and-a-half-hour visit. Included in the experience are:

·       Students directly engage with EPS teachers through two EPS mini-classes

·       Parents and guardians attend an interactive Q&A panel of EPS faculty, current parents, and students

·       Both students and parents experience what makes EPS unique through a self-guided tour with “hubs” around campus that are hosted by EPS teachers, students and current parents, or a Student Ambassador-led tour

For international applicants or families applying from outside of the local area, we are offering one virtual Admissions Preview.]

Online Student Assessment: Interview and Writing Sample Our priority in our admissions process is that we get to know each student as an individual – their personalities, interests, and the unique way that they think. Through recorded video interview responses, students can express these in their own words, providing authentic insight for our admissions committee into their identities and personalities. Students will also respond to one question in writing.
Parent/Guardian Interview When students join our EPS community, their parents and guardians also become part of our community. That’s why we want to get to know you as well through a discussion-based thirty-minute  (30) parent/guardian interview where you’ll have an opportunity to share more about your student and your family and to ask us questions about EPS. We strongly encourage families to attend an EPS Admissions Preview event before they complete their interview. If possible, please ensure you register for an interview date after your Preview event date.

Virtual Student Q&A At this virtual event, applying students will have the opportunity to ask questions and hear about the Eastside Prep experience from our Student Ambassadors.

This is a student-focused event, for applicants to connect directly with current students. Parents and Guardians will have opportunities to ask questions at Admissions Preview Q&As and at our Admissions Office Hours.

Admissions Office Hours Drop into this virtual event to ask questions to an Admission Team Member or listen to others’ questions. You can come and go as you need or want. You can register for Office Hours via Ravenna Hub.

EPS Financial Aid Information Session Responsible action and compassionate leadership are the mission-based values guiding us as we strive for increased equity in our school community.
Join this 90-minute session to learn more about the Financial Aid program at EPS and how to apply from our Director of Finance and Operations, Casey Otley, and our Director of Enrollment Management, Cheryl Schenk Miller.
This event is hosted in Zoom, and participants will have the ability to ask questions anonymously during this session if that’s most comfortable and helpful for them.
